A Long Island high school teacher’s assistant was arrested for raping an underage student at the school, Suffolk County police said Friday.
Bay Shore High School teacher’s assistant Marcus Johnson was arrested Thursday night and charged with rape and endangering the welfare of a child for having an “inappropriate relationship” with a teenager at the school, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
The victim, now 15 years old, was 14 when the abuse started, cops said. Police say the victim was not one of Johnson’s students.
The 27-year-old paraprofessional has worked for the Department of Education since 2014, according to See Through NY. Johnson worked at the high school with children with autism since 2016, according to his Facebook page.
Johnson is scheduled to be arraigned in Central Islip court Friday.
