The frosty relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government in Nigeria, seem ready for a long race; as the National Assembly rejects President Muhammadu Buhari’s request letter for an approval to borrow a whopping 30billion dollars.
The president last Tuesday forwarded a request to the National Assembly to approve an external borrow of 30billion dollars to execute key infrastructural project across the country between 2016 and 2018.
He made the request in two separate letters, to the president of the senate. Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the house of representative Yakubu Dogara.
A few persons we randomly spoke to comment on this matter on anonymity, wonder how much is our external reserve, to warrant such a stupendous borrowing at this austere times, and given the Nigerian Governments knack for reckless spending??
