Why, Skye Bank Why?
Good morning folks! The person whose picture is accompanying this pubic complaint, is Mr. Oluremi Akande, and he is the Manager in charge of Integrated marketing Communications, in an ailing Sky Bank. His contact person, Mrs. Rachael Akpan, my church member and a legal department staff of Sky Bank; gave me a brief which stated that: Sky Bank was in serious liquidity quagmire and was desperately in need of a blueprint to clean up its soiled image.
I requested to meet with the management of the bank, to enable us have a buy-in/strategic meeting, she however insisted and persuaded me eventually to turn in the blueprint first, promising that I will be invited with my team to meet and agree with their management on the implementation of the blueprint. The meeting surprisingly never held.
After helping themselves with the blueprint sent by me by e-mail to Mr. Oluremi Akande, on behalf of my company, MBS Africa, and still holding on to the document since August 19, 2016; without inviting me for talks, and rebuffing my requests for negotiation, if there was no money to execute the blueprint, I wrote the bank’s management asking that I be compensated with the sum of N1.5 million.
They would not bulge, any way, until my Lawyer wrote them, threatening to head to court if I was not compensated by the bank for coveting my intellectual property. And guess what? Sky bank had the effrontery to tell us in their reply that, they had no agreement with me. Yet they neither returned my document nor did they invite me for any talk for two months now.
Fellow compatriots, if you are in shoes would you proceed to court? Is there still a window of settlement open to MBS Africa and Sky Bank?
I really wonder how a banking institution could be so callously mischievous. I honestly thought that the bank was a place where global best practices was a norm than an exception, as Sky bank’s signal seem to suggest. I am also, through this medium, appealing to the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, to kindly and urgently call Sky bank to order, or can a banking institution that trades on trust and integrity, so brazenly display insincerity? Is the public’s money still safe in their hands? I just wonder!!
