An unusual graduate who says he had avoided dating for four years, as an undergraduate, recently emerged best graduate at Crawford University, raising the question of whether abstaining from campus romance could catalyze high performance in academic work.
Samuel Ogunlana, an Ogun state indigene, who made the startling disclosure, graduated as the overall best student of Crawford University based in Ogun State, South-west Nigeria; with a CGPA of 4.94.
He said that he as soon as he settled in on his studies, he decided he would make some hard sacrifices in order to come out in bright and enviable colours.
Ogunlana says he remained focused on his set goals despite criticism from fellow students and all others who saw him as queer.
The sterling graduate finished from the department of political science, College of Business and Social Sciences.
