The students that wrote the 2016/2017 unified tertiary matriculation exam has been given the leverage to study freely in universities not minding the choice of course, financial strength or capacity.
The students over the times have been struggling with this menace that those in the upper class of the society send their children to schools even if the child or ward doesn’t want to, leaving the wards of the people on the lower class of the society go through the trauma of been segregated.
Federal government has long watched this situation go on and on but have decided it’s time for action. The issues of over stressed and populated young Nigerians re-sitting overtime, for the same exams and spending so much of time, money and yet not getting into the so-called citadels of learning of their choice.
Academic pursuit by this future generation was becoming very burdensome for the citizens in this country, so the Federal government thought it wise to streamline the purchase of the form and scrapping the post-UTME in schools leaving the young citizens with only their ability to prove their academic prowess.
The change that has been long prayed and waited for has finally arrived as the Federal government asks all schools that has conducted their own exams to refund the money back to the students reason been that the schools involved overtime are in a way dubious. Students with the desire to study and become better have been over looked while those with money get to be admitted.
